Believe that it is possible to render life and you will paint with greater understanding. Believe that your marks have meaning, and your marks will move and have life. Believe that it is possible to be fully present to another, and your images will be truthful and ever-present. The artist is what she paints and you are what you see. Born in Kentucky and then raised in Germany and Spain, I saw ancient and modern art on the streets, sides of buildings, in museums, cathedrals, and castles. This exposure fueled my passion for making drawings and paintings both larger than life and even miniature in scale. What inspires me most is the transient nature of life; things dynamic, moving, alive and in transition.
